Calling to Ministry: Having grown up in a Latin American church, I’ve always felt an affinity for Latin culture. In my adult years, I decided to deepen my cultural fluency by strengthening my Spanish language skills, visiting various countries throughout the region and immersing my children in Spanish-language environments. Together with my husband, we explored relocating our family. This dream was interrupted, however, when my husband ended up passing away from cancer. Through that experience, I learned the reality of Jesus’ sufficiency in the face of loss. He sustained us with the living water and we discovered that there is abundant life in Him, even in suffering. After he passed, I reexamined the old dream about Latin America and I realized that not only did I still feel the call to go, I was filled with a new passion to tell others about Jesus’ life-changing love.
Mission and/or Vision for Ministry: As a Missionary Bridger, I will be working alongside two experienced missionaries in Aguascalientes to support their efforts for a small church plant. My two children, ages 5 and 2, will be with me. My prayer is that God will place other families with young children in our path and that He will open opportunities for heartfelt conversations and evangelism.
Personal Points of Interest: At church, you’ll find me singing with the worship team or playing guitar for the little ones. Around my neighborhood, I’m known for throwing our annual block party and for facilitating unstructured kid play. Professionally, I was a UX Design manager working within the tech industry until I stepped away when our second child was born.
Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 126. “When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream. We were filled with laughter and we sang for joy.”
