Serving In: Mexico
Ministry: Childrens Ministry, Church Development, Missionary

SAMS Role: Missionary

Home Church: Fourth Presbyterian Church, Bethesda, MD, USA

Starting Year with SAMS: 2020

Calling to Ministry: Throughout her time at Wheaton College (IL) as an undergrad, Meredith had the opportunity to be influenced by missionaries who were working all over the world. When she was a senior, she attended the Urbana Missions Week before her final semester. There she made a commitment to the Lord to go “do missions” for the year after graduation. Due to an interest in working with children and some knowledge of Spanish, going to Mexico to work with a small church and their children’s ministry seemed like a good fit. She joined a team of other recent college graduates in June 1997, and that year has turned into a couple decades!

Ministry Mission: Meredith desires to teach children and youth, as well as adults, about Jesus and His love. Working within the context of a small local church, she works to raise up and equip leaders to continue with the work of spreading the Gospel. She also seeks to make disciples who go on to make more disciples of Jesus Christ.

Personal Points of Interest: Meredith enjoys spending time outside, taking long walks with her dogs and experimenting with container gardening. She also enjoys reading, both fiction and non-fiction, baking, playing board games, spending time with US-based family, and traveling.  She hopes to one day be able to live in a place of beauty with mountains and water.

Favorite Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 15:58
