Roger and Joanne Griffin
Roger and Joanne Griffin
SAMS Role: Missionaries
Home Church: Holy Trinity Windermere, Charleston, South Carolina
Starting Year with SAMS: 2017
Calling to Ministry: Joanne and Roger were young missionaries in Mexico City over 30 years ago, but had returned to “normal” life in the States. Many years later, while living and serving as a Deacon in the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina, Roger was involved with developing Diocesan relationships with Latin American churches. After trips to Peru, Chile, Cuba, and Mexico, the Lord opened a door to full time ministry as the area dean of Mexico for the Diocese of the Southwest. They have been living in Mexico since January 2019, and have a guest room waiting for you. Come and see!
Ministry Mission: The Griffins seek out leaders and promote affordable online seminary opportunities for young Anglican Christians in Mexico. They work to fortify the Church’s presence in Mexico and promote cultural understanding with our brethren throughout North America. They provide encouragement, fellowship, and communication within the Diocese of the Southwest’s deanery of Mexico.
Personal Points of Interest: Roger is a lifelong student of Mexican history, art, and culture. Joanne enjoys leading worship, arts and crafts. They both enjoy friendship evangelism by helping students with conversational English. Both have a keen and studied interest in tacos.
